I have made a difficult choice.

As you may recall from an earlier post, I am making a Teeny & Prima pitch for Saban Brands. The problem is, with college and other duties in the way, I can't complete all the animation, scanning and coloring I need within the next six days.

So, I've decides to fill the remaining sequences in the film with storyboard panels and a scratch track with my voice, with appropriate music and sound effects added into the mix.

I'm sorry I have to do this, but it's just a pitch.

On a more positive note, after I finish my film, I will try to apply for an internship at Frederator and Buzzco in NYC during winter break.

As a bonus, here's a drawing I'm prepared to color.

Man-made man-jo.

In a Fleischer-inspired gag, here's Teeny playing Donna as a makeshift string instrument.

Behind the scenes of "Sit on It!"

I am currently at work on my first homemade animation project starring my girls. It is a short 2-minute pitch, titled "Sit on It," for me to pitch to Saban Brands for their shorts program.

Since I have to create a short on such short notice, and because my animation skills are not that developed, I will be using limited animation in my project, even using some classic Hanna-Barbera sound effects.

I scan the drawing and I open them up on Photoshop, where I color and clean up the lines, turning the drawings into makeshift cels.

Donna is getting her makeup done.
Afterward, I transfer the cels to AfterEffects, where I composite the scene and sync them up with sound effects and scratch voices that I recorded on my iPhone. After I complete all the scenes, which I rendered on MOV files, I will pit them together on an AfterEffects composition and add stock music.

And should I not get my break, I can always use this in a resume to get into a good animation school.

Quick sketches!

Here are some quick, hilarious sketches of Teeny and Donna I made today, again inspired by Ren & Stimpy.

"Heeeeeeee's...DEAD!!!"

I think this is one of my favorite Donna sketches.

This was more experimental and original. I tried simulating squash-and-stretch physics.

And stay tuned for a special announcement on Monday!

Teeny failed...

This quick piece was based on the classic Simpsons clip, plus my own fear of anything below a "B" in high school.

Animation: Teeny & Prima take!

Here is an animation test I animated yesterday. I based it off of a scene from the Ren & Stimpy pilot Big House Blues. I will show you the key drawings and then a GIF of the finished animation.

I tried to make the animation fit their personalities. Donna is an excitable, yet stubborn fellow; a common trait of the average teenage girl. Teeny, on the other hand, is bright, yet slow-witted, so I make her move weirdly, as you'll see, by having her arms flap up and down.

Ignore the numbers on the bottom of the drawings. While they are marked for animating on twos, only #1 and #3 were scanned on twos; the rest are on ones. Sorry, but it was a last-minute decision.

This is my favorite drawing in this GIF. I enjoyed the girls' expressions, the lines above their heard to illustrate their surprise, and the flexibility of their fingers.

As I mentioned, before, the positinong of the each girls' arms is different. Since Donna is more "average", her arms are bent and point forward, whereas Teeny's weirdness fits her keeping her arms stiff while

I tried to make the final drawing different from the first bu making them more excited here than there. Donna looks more attentive and Teeny is biting her lower lip in excitement. Hope you enjoyed looking into my process; and now, the completed animation!

It's not perfect, but hey, it's a start.
